Comments on playground - trees and best practice

From "Tiverton Open Space playground refurbishment."

Go to the project

Please consider best practice from Paddington Recreation ground, Holland Park and others. These play areas and are well designed using natural materials.

There is no or little shade in the playground during the summer - please consider how this could be provided through planting.

The climbing wall is rarely used - an alternative activity for children or an additional court / football practice area with a goal net would be welcome.

The playground would ideally have equipment suitable for toddlers and older children (zip wires are popular and whilst the guidance states these cannot easily be maintained they have been installed successfully in Queens Park and Pad Rec).

A multi-level play area would maximise play space and support imaginative play.
