Healthcare & Infrastructure

From "Draft Borough Plan Priorities"

Go to the project

I believe the items on the proposed priority list are sensible but some key items are missing.

Healthcare support is deteriorating. It is almost impossible to get an appointment with a GP and the hospital wait is always getting longer. The number of hospitals and GPs are not increasing with housing and population. This needs to be the number one priority in my view.

Secondly, infrastructure. Population is growing and housing is being created, but current infrastructure can not copy. Roads are getting busier and traffic systems are not maturing to best manage traffic. Council is always wasting a lot of money on changing layouts in a detrimental effect, like that near neasden roundabout and near the hill on Kensal Rise train station . These is not smart or worthwhile investments.

Thirdly, we need to get more stringent on benefits. Those who require benefits should be getting it, but the qualification process needs to get smarter and harsher in some areas. Those who require benefits should definitely be getting it, but we need to get better at ensuring that those abusing the system are punished and penalised.

Lastly, I agree with the need for a cleaner Brent. This should be promoted by all who live in Brent. There are also smarter and more methods for cleaning which could be adopted as we evolve with time.

I agree with your comments they are granting permissions to build huge buildings without any thought about its impact on the Environment. No new GP surgeries are being built, no new schools, no new road structures and the worst of all is that so many skyscrapers have very few or limited parking spaces. If you have given permission to built a 25 storey block of flats and only allow 6 parking spaces where are the residents supposed to park. They of course park in side streets which causes more problems to residents who live there. Where will delivery trucks park, where will maintenance vans park and where will there visitors park. Its not like you have done anything to address that. Look at Alperton Station it is the same since it was built and look at the rising flats being built around it. How do you expect the station to cope with the additional footfall. You are also not doing anything for the environment either some residents have three to five cars in a single three bedroom house. How is that going to create a greener Brent. Stop giving parking permits to more than two cars per household unless they have space to park them in their drives and help reduce the carbon footprint in the whole of Brent.
