Invest money in Roundwood Park

From "Church End / Roundwood Interactive Map"

Go to the project

Roundwood Park is so beautiful and so full of potential, but at the moment feels massively underinvested in. Some ideas as follow:

  • Link Roundwood Park to the extension so it feels like one cohesive space.
  • I know there are plans in place to re-do the playground in Roundwood, but they’re so unambitious it’s depressing - basically replacing like for like. There is space for a much larger, much more interesting playground - please use it!!! On the weekends the playground is packed to the rafters with children using broken / missing equipment- they deserve better.
  • For older children, build an adventure playground with more challenging equipment on the Roundwood extension side of the park. This would give older children a place to go, encouraging them to spend more time outside which is good for mental and physical health.
  • Do something - anything!!! - with the bowling green. Again a space with so much potential that just looks utterly depressing at the moment. Use it as a space for a farmers market or to hold seasonal fairs, create a community hub where people can watch sporting events on big screens etc., create a ‘Queens Park lates’ style weekly event where food and drink stall holders set up shop to get the community together every week. There are so so many options.
  • enforce fines for owners who don’t clean up after their dogs. Dog poo is such a problem in Roundwood Park and Harlesden more widely. Please follow through on the threatening signs and actually fine people who don’t clean up after their dogs.
