Objection to relocation of Islamia Primary School to Strathcona Avenue

The location is completely unsuitable for a large primary school whose catchment is miles away. It would only be accessible by Carlton Avenue East, which is already extremely congested with people driving to Preston Park Primary School. And there are already too many selective schools in this area that admit students not on the basis of community but religion or nationality, creating exclusive and divisive institutions that erode social integration and embed inequality – as well as bringing more vehicles to our neighbourhoods, polluting our air quality with detriment to our health and that of our children. This is an entirely unsafe proposal.
