Objection to relocation

From "Consultation on relocation of Islamia Primary School from September 2024"

Go to the project

My partner and myself strongly object to the school being moved to our area. Below are some of the points that we feel are most important, all of which have already been highlighted by other neighbours:

1.     The area already has too much congestion caused by school traffic. Adding another school will create intolerable levels of traffic.

2.     Roe Green school recently existed in this location and was forced to close down due to lack of funding from council. How is it logical for Islamia School to now be offered this location?

3.     If Islamia School was not a faith-based school, would the council have considered relocating it, or would all the students have been dispersed into nearby schools?

4.     There appears to be a lack of transparency on the alternative options that were considered for this school. What are the other locations that were considered?

5.     It is not fair for the school’s current pupils or environmentally conscious to force them to travel so far for access to education.
