We need to support the Friends of Parks as they are doing such good work to promote a GREENER Brent. Look what Brent has done to the area around Wembley Stadium. Concrete as far as the eye can see.. We are warned about climate change, evident even by the amount of rain. But floods are being caused as there is nowhere for the water to be soaked up. It should be compulsory that a large park like area is designated every time a block of flats goes up.

Agreed. Flooding in Brent is a considerable issue now; Brent has located many sites across the borough that have regular flooding. Watch out for - Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) in 2023 for all councils to comply with - This should help to create greener environments to be considered and argued for, to be applied within every planning application. We await the announcement of an appointment for the Ecology Officer within Planning - Sutton where this scheme originated from, has more than 1 Ecology officer and Old Oak (Brent) has been a pilot area prior to the roll-out of BNG across London. Let's see what the Brent Planning Ecology Officer proposes with the 1st tranche of applications, when this is come into effect
