Josie Warshaw4 years ago Transport for London have announced speed limits on Finchley Road , Camden Road , Euston Road and Grays Inn road to eliminate deaths and serious injury . Please introduce the same on The Kilburn High Road and Introduce Green Spaces wherever possible (see The Top Of Priory Park Road Suggestion ) description of kilburn high road by Camden Councillors Kilburn High Road is extremley busy and unsafe carrying a high volume of vehicles per day 12,500 cars lorries and buses alongside pedestrians and cyclists . Road Traffic accidents on KHR are amongst the highest in London 112 casualties between may2018 and april 2021 aloneThe town centre is a challenge to navigate for the elderly and those with or disabled mobility issues Air quality is poor too : sites on Kilburn High Road are over 4 times higher than the WHO recomended levels of NO2 with higher rates of of repiratory illnes than other areas of Brent and Camden . Access to open space and nature is limited with citizens only able to access between 0.3 and 0.6 open space per 100 population against national standard of 5.35ha.

Josie Warshaw4 years ago I agree that there is not enough Green Space in Brent and that Health and Well being is important .This idea meets many (not just one ) of the councils key aims. Health and well being - putting young people first . Greener Brent I was very pleased that the top of Priory Park road was closed to cars 2 weekends ago for a market and Live Music for the Kilburn Fringe Festival .It was brilliant .Now please make the closure of th ekilburn High Road end of Priory Park Road permanent . This part of the road has a primary school , a very large homeless peoples /families hostel that houses children ( much used by Brent Council ), a pub , market stalls . At present this road is nothing more than a car park for people driving to the shops on KHR when they could easily get a bus or cycle or walk to go to the shops . The car madness on Priory Park Road continues morning noon and night . Pedestrians and school children and everyone using this road on foot are at high risk or injury and ill health from pollution. Everyone is stopping to shop at Aldis and the surrounding shops. Please RETHINK THIS SPACE with trees and greenery (preferably fruit trees,) benches to sit , a concrete table tennis table or two lots of bike parking to encourage people to shop arriving by bike or a bus ! .Secure bike parking stands ( there is never enough for the high road . Please keep the space open so people of all ages can play and meet here and rest from the relentless onslaught of traffic on the Kilburn High Road . Please make this a focal point for Kilburn highroad with regular arts activities such as live music , food stalls , tables outside the pub for the warmer months, bike repair, buskers. ..and put some recycling bins here. Please do something to alleviate the Cars Cars Cars Lorries Cars and more cars environment of the Kilburn High road. By doing this you would be hitting MANY of your targets .You would be creating a safer environment for the children in the school and the families in the hostel whilst improving the Kilburn High Road shopping experience and the environment for local people. A GREEN SPACE .At the moment the Priory Park Road Kilburn High Road end is relentless utter madness people parking turning and idling their cars OUT SIDE THE SCHOOL !!!! Chucking their rubbish on the pavement (and not a bin in sight. ) nobody pays for parking because nobody enforces parking tickets so little to none revenue here for Brent Council . There is car parking in the next road down move cars there . Please make this into a green environment for locals and visitors alike . Its an easy win for so many people including for Brent Council.
