This location has been identified as a priority area for the introduction of dedicated cycle parking provision for hire bikes. This will provide users with clarity on where they can safely park bikes in the area, whilst addressing issues of bikes causing obstructions to other road users.
We are proposing to introduce a cycle hire bike bay on Cambridge Avenue as shown on the map. The proposed cycle hire bay will be located outside no 45. The cycle hire bay will take 5m in each space. The cycle hire bay, which has the capacity to store eight bicycles will allow users to rent or return the bicycles at any time. Cycle hire bays will be marked and signed to indicate that it is for cycle hire bikes only. Carriageway bays will include protective bollards.
