Carlyon Road Area-Alperton Area CPZ

We have received a number of complaints and requests regarding parking issues in the area. Residents have raised concerns that, during weekdays, many commuters are parking for the entire day, making it increasingly difficult for local residents to find available spaces. This situation has also contributed to traffic congestion and raised road safety concerns in the neighbourhood. As part of the 2025-26 Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) programme, the Council has decided to consult residents on proposed CPZ measures for their street. The affected area is outlined on the map provided.

Phases overview

Consultation

22 January 2026 00:00 - 14 February 2026 00:00

All the kerbside road space on Hazel Grove, Carlyon Road, Longley Avenue, Queensbury Road, Brentvale Avenue, Bamford Avenue, Norwood Avenue, Fulwood Avenue, Crabtree Avenue and Abbey Avenue will be controlled. Yellow lines will be introduced to control road junctions (double yellow line) and vehicular accesses (single yellow). This will prevent obstructive parking on junctions and across driveways. It will also improve accessibility for pedestrians, the disabled, emergency services and refuse collection.

Parking will be either for permit holder or in 'pay by phone’ bays. Residents will need to purchase permits if they, or their visitors, wish to park in the designated bays during the scheme’s operational times you prefer in the questionnaire. However, permits are not required for residents who park in their own driveways. Please also note that developer contributions (S106) have provided funding, allowing the Council to offer free resident permits for lower and standard emission vehicles if the CPZ is implemented. Permits for higher-emission vehicles will not be subsidised.
