Church End New Homes & Market Relocation On-Street Parking Changes

Brent Council will be delivering 99 new council homes, retail units and a market square in summer 2026. The current location of the market on Church Road is temporary to allow the construction of the new council homes and, following completion, the market will move to a new market square within the development.

The market helps to support the local economy and to ensure it remains viable, the number of trading days is being increased from two to four so that the same number of stalls can be accommodated within the new market square. To facilitate this increase in trading days, changes are also required to extend the operational days of the market trader permit holder only parking bays on Church Road.

In addition, to assist delivery of five new retail units as part of the housing development, a new loading bay, disabled persons parking bays and pay and display parking bays are also proposed.

As we prepare for the delivery of 99 new homes and new market square, the council is also proposing to include 2 new car club spaces within close proximity to the development. New car club parking spaces would be open and accessible for all local residents and visitors to join.

12 March 2026 - 2 April 2026

The proposed changes are shown in the attached drawings and are described below: -

Market Trader permit holder parking bays - The existing Market Trader (MT) permit holder only parking bays on Church Road are proposed to operate for four days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, (6am-6pm)), instead of the current two days. This will enable traders to park close to their stalls on the additional market days.

Goods vehicle loading bay - A new goods vehicle only loading bay is proposed outside nos. 191-203 Church Road to provide dedicated loading facilities for existing businesses and the new retail units.

Disabled persons parking bays - Two new disabled persons parking bays are proposed in Preston Gardens

Pay and display car parking bays: Nine pay and display parking bays are proposed in a new parking area within part of the market square on non-market days (Tuesday & Friday).

Two new car club spaces – Within the existing parking spaces closest to 130 Church Road, NW10 along Church Road.
