Domestic Abuse Policy
Domestic abuse can have a devastating impact on individuals, families and communities.
For many people experiencing domestic abuse, housing is a critical issue. People may need support to remain safely in their home, access alternative accommodation, or seek housing assistance because they are at risk of homelessness.
As both a housing authority and a social landlord, Brent Council has a key role in responding to domestic abuse and supporting those affected.
We are developing a Housing Domestic Abuse Policy to set out how housing services will support victims and survivors, respond when domestic abuse occurs in council housing, and work with partners to address abusive behaviour.
We are seeking feedback from residents and partner organisations to ensure the policy reflects local needs and supports an effective housing response to domestic abuse.
The deadline for completing the survey is 31 May 2026 11:59pm.
If you have any questions or need support to complete this survey, please contact: housingfeedback@brent.gov.uk
