Kilburn Lane Area Proposed 20MPH Scheme

For several years the Council have been receiving complaints from residents of Kilburn Lane area (all streets within Zones K, KC, and KM CPZs) about vehicles speeding on their roads and have requested the Council to introduce measures to slow down the speeds.

Speaking to your local ward councillors, we understand that there is a great interest from local community in introducing 20mph speed limits in all the streets in the area shown in the plan at the back of this page. We have been told that local resident wants their streets to be safer, discourage drivers using the area as a rat run and make their roads accessible to cyclists and pedestrians.

As a result of our discussions, we are therefore proposing to introduce measures to encourage slower vehicle speeds and to reduce the number and severity of traffic accidents in the area.
