Local Plan Call for Sites
What is a Call for Sites?
The Call for Sites is an opportunity for landowners, developers, agents, community groups and residents to suggest land for inclusion in the evidence base for the Council's new Local Plan.
Sites can be submitted for a range of potential uses, including:
- Housing, including specialist housing
- Employment or commercial uses
- Community facilities and infrastructure
- Open space, green infrastructure or biodiversity improvements
- Other uses that should be considered through the Local Plan
Submitting a site does not automatically mean that it will be allocated for development or that the Council supports its development.
Why are we doing it?
As part of preparing a new Local Plan, the Council needs to understand what land may be available to help meet future development, infrastructure, environmental and community needs.
All submitted sites will be assessed against a consistent set of criteria to determine whether they are suitable, available and achievable, in parallel with information held by the Great London Authority (GLA). The information gathered will help inform the preparation of the Local Plan and future planning decisions.
The Call for Sites runs alongside the Local Plan Scoping Consultation from 2 September 2026 to 30 September 2026. However, site submissions can be completed and submitted up until 11:59pm on 31 December 2026. Any submissions received after this deadline may not be considered.
