mitham hamoudi4 years ago Anyone using escooter with a child fined 1000 pound sterling and confiscation of the scooterAnyone using skateboard escooters bikes on payments vehicles confiscated and £250 fine.Anyone who colides with a pedestrian while using a vehicle will be taken to court as a criminal matter.Anyone with a child on an escooter on the street and is involved in an accident it should be taken to court as a criminal matter.Thank you

David Woolley4 years ago The council should provide a rationale for the scheme that explains either why existing law cannot be used or how a PSPO allows scarce resources to be better used.As far as I can see, most or all of the bad behaviour is already covered by existing law, e.g. e-scooters are already prosecuted for "not in accord with a licence" and "uninsured vehicle" offences. Driving across verges and pavements is already illegal in London. Doing stunts surely constitutes failing to maintain proper control. Racing must be, at least, reckless driving.It seems to me that the real problem is not that the laws don't exist, but that no-one can afford to enforce them and the point has been reached where they are seen as paper tigers that can be ignored with impunity. This applies more generally, e.g. fly tipping and planning breaches, etc. Britain seems to be becoming a country in which people only obey laws for which they have a real fear of being penalised, but law enforcement has always be funded on the basis that the vast majority of people will obey the law because it is the law.
