Proposed Submission West London Waste Plan Consultation

Background
The west London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond upon Thames along with the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) are preparing a Joint Waste Plan which sets out the proposed planning strategy for waste management in the plan area up to 2041 and includes policies proposed to be used when assessing planning applications that relate to waste management. It also identifies sites proposed to be safeguarded for waste use.
The first consultation relating to the Joint Waste Plan (known formally as the ‘Regulation 18 Draft Updated West London Waste Plan’) ran from 11th December 2025 to 5th February 2026. Comments received have been considered and have informed the Proposed Submission version of the West London Waste Plan which we are now consulting on.
The consultation
We would like to hear the views of our local communities, businesses and other stakeholders as to whether the Plan is ‘sound’ and has been developed in line with legal requirements, including whether it is in general conformity with the London Plan.
This is the final opportunity to make comments before the proposed submission of the Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination in December 2026.
The consultation will run from Tuesday 4 August to Monday 28 September 2026 (11.59pm).
