St Pauls Avenue Dockless Bike Hire Bay Consultation
A key aspect of this initiative is the provision of e-bikes parking in areas where users can rent a bike. This addresses issues like e-bikes blocking the footway and the risk of causing obstruction to pedestrians and other road users. Through the installation of dedicated cycle hire bays, the Council aims to embed environmental sustainability into daily life, making cycling easier and safer for residents.
The cycle hire bay, which has the capacity to store eight bicycles will allow users to rent or return the bicycles at any time. Cycle hire bays will be marked and signed to indicate that it is for cycle hire bikes only. Carriageway bays will include protective bollards.

Phases
Consultation
This location has been identified as a priority area for the introduction of dedicated cycle parking provision for hire bikes. This will provide users with clarity on where they can safely park bikes in the area, whilst addressing issues of bikes causing obstructions to other road users.
We are proposing to introduce a cycle hire bike bay on St Pauls . The proposed cycle hire bay will be located at the side of no 37 Walm Lane. The cycle hire bay will take 5m in each space.
