Wembley Park Drive & Elmside Road Wembley Event Day Parking

The Council has received complaints from business and residents about lack of parking spaces available for loading and unloading for goods vehicles and motorcycles which result in access and obstructive parking in carriageway and footway in the area. 

Following officers’ assessments and visit to the area and consulting with the local ward member, it is proposed to change the existing event day parking to pay by phone only Mon- Sat 8.30-10.30am & 4.30 -6.30pm; On event days, 8 am – midnight. It is also proposed to mark out double blips on the kerb at certain locations like turning area, near bus stop and double yellow lines where parking will be a problem if vehicles were to double park or even park on both sides of the carriageway. These proposals are in line with the Highway Code, 2007 edition, rule 243 which states that motorists should not park; “anywhere (that) would prevent access for Emergency Services, opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space.”
