West London Orbital Consultation - Have your say on plans for a new railway serving Brent
Transport for London (TfL) is consulting on proposals for the West London Orbital, a new London Overground route that would bring underused freight railway lines into passenger use, creating new north-south connections across west London.
What could it mean for Brent?
The proposals include new stations at Harlesden and Neasden, with up to six trains per hour and direct connections to Brent Cross West, Old Oak Common and West London's Golden Mile employment area.
Potential benefits include:
- Faster and more convenient journeys across west London.
- Better access to jobs, education and training opportunities.
- Improved links to the Elizabeth line, HS2 and other rail services.
- New step-free stations at Harlesden and Neasden.
- Reduced traffic congestion and improved air quality through greater public transport use.
- Support for new homes, jobs and economic growth across Brent and west London.
