Wrottesley Road Proposed 20mph Speed Limit

Over the last five years, in Wrottesley Road there have been 14 accidents resulting 15 casualties. Out of these, three have sustained serious injuries and 12 have sustained slight injuries. Among the casualties, two involved pedestrians, one passenger and two were P/C riders. Therefore, the aim of the proposed 20 mph speed limit is: • to reduce speed of cars in the residential roads on the eastern and western sides of Wrottesley Road which are in a 20mph speed zone. • to reduce the number and severity of accidents. • to encourage walking and cycling by residents particularly elderly and schoolchildren by providing safer walking links to schools and local amenities.
