Old Kenton Lane Green Corridor Consultation
Phases
Consultation
This scheme forms part of the Council’s place-based approach to taking climate action, with Kingsbury identified as an area with potential for enhancing and linking green and active travel infrastructure known as ‘Green Corridors’. Initial engagement activities were originally held in 2021, followed by a more specific area-wide green corridors feasibility study in 2024.
In 2025, funding was secured from Transport for London to deliver a range of measures to reduce traffic speeds and volumes and supporting high quality conditions for walking in Kingsbury Green Neighbourhood as part of the three-year programme. The proposed road safety improvements on Old Kenton Lane form the second year of the programme and are focused on reducing traffic speeds by providing a new 20mph speed limit, traffic calming measures, additional greening and improving pedestrian crossings to make it easier and safer for people to walk, cycle, and travel around the area.
